STICKSTAR REPORT 17: D2 2016 SEASON RECAP

“In San Antonio, the landscape is changing. TMI has, as of late, held court in the San Antonio District, but the Reagan Rattlers are making moves. In 2016, Reagan captured the #1 seed as they played well all year. The Rattlers lost close games to Dripping Springs, Westlake D2, and Lake Travis. TMI, the usual favorite, came in at 2nd and played a competitive D1 Austin schedule in preparation for their 2017 step up the ladder. Smithson Valley was 3rd in San Antonio, playing both TMI & Reagan very close. Most of their games were tight with the closest being a 2OT loss to Cedar Park. Smithson Valley beat Central Catholic 6-5 to capture that 3rd spot. The Central Catholic Buttons, the second best mascot ever to my alma mater, the Avon Old Farms Winged Beavers, took the #4 seed and beat who they needed to in order to make the playoffs. St. Mary’s Hall, Roosevelt, and St. Anthony’s were left on the outside looking in.” - #StickStarReport17: D2 2016 Season Recap
